Our Commitment to Authenticity
Every card sold by Thunderstone Cards — single, graded, or sealed — is checked and photographed before it's listed, and again before it ships. We know collectors have been burned before by miscounted rarities, swapped cards, and inflated grades, so verification isn't an afterthought here — it's part of how every order is prepared.
Graded Cards
We list and buy graded cards authenticated by the major third-party grading services: PSA, BGS (Beckett), CGC, and Ace Grading. These are independent authentication companies — Thunderstone Cards does not grade cards itself, and every grade is assigned solely by these third parties according to their own published standards.
Every graded card is photographed prior to dispatch, including a clear image of the certification label and cert number, so both you and we have a record of exactly what was shipped. If you ever have a query about a cert number, get in touch and we'll happily confirm it against our records.
Ungraded Singles — Condition Standards
We assess the condition of our ungraded singles using standard collector terminology:
- Near Mint (NM) — little to no visible wear, sharp corners, no creases.
- Lightly Played (LP) — minor edge wear or very light surface wear, still displays well.
- Moderately Played (MP) — noticeable wear, light creasing or scuffing, still fully playable.
- Heavily Played (HP) — significant wear, creasing, or edge damage.
- Damaged (DMG) — major damage such as heavy creasing, tears, or water damage.
Condition is assessed under good lighting prior to listing, and listing photos are taken of the actual card you'll receive, not a stock image — what you see is what you get.
Sealed Product
Sealed product is sourced through official or verified channels and checked for factory seal integrity before listing.
